Watch for a new book -- by the creator of Lean Beans, and published by Productivity Press -- coming this Fall 2011.  The title of the book is:


"The Controller as Lean Leader:

A Novel on Changing Behavior with a Lean Cost Management System"

For the past three years, we have offered our one-day seminar in 30 major cities throughout the US.  We facilitated our last such seminar in our favorite city, Philadelphia, in July.  Starting in the Winter of 2012, we will be offering two-day conferences for the Controller, CFO, COO and all management personnel engaged in Lean manufacturing.  These conferences will offer you a variety of speakers, a variety of topics on Lean, Lean Sigma and Lean Accounting, and a variety of perspectives on what we can do TODAY to improve our businesses.  These conferences will also offer you the ability to network one evening over good food and drinks with other Lean professionals, and share your successes as well as your problems.  Our hope is that these conferences will be most beneficial to you, and have immediate "take-aways" to help you in this troubled economy.

Spring 2012 we will be offering a Lean Controllers Conference.  This event will begin on a Thursday afternoon at the Hyatt Regency at the Orlando International Airport Hotel.  We chose this location, not just for its superb facilities and food, but also to assist attendees in getting from the airport to the conference in record time and with great ease.  Thursday evening will be a networking time for all attendees and speakers, and then we have a full, very packed offering of topics and exceptional, unique speakers for the entire day on Friday.
Our speakers are CMA's, CPA's, PhD's, Six Sigma Master Black Belts, economists, college professors, and engineers.  The topics include Six Sigma, Lean Sigma, Lean Accounting, Economics, Metrics and Scorecards, Cost Estimation, Risk Management, Productivity, Change Management, Value Stream Mapping to create a Vision, validating Lean cost savings, Target Costing, Budgeting, and the creation of the Lean P&L.

The focus of this Lean Controllers Conference is on Change Management, with the Lean Controller acting as a Catalyst for Change and as a Strategist, focusing not on historical reporting but rather on defining the future of the company to enhance process improvement, to inspire innovation for the growth of both profits and revenues, and to enhance overall business performance.  The focus at this conference is on the financial managerial professional as a business partner, assisting top management in strategic and process-oriented decision making, as well as putting out "alerts" of potential problems and helping executives avoid "surprises."
